More updates! Ohio State had a faulty RSS feed (the news site had moved!), and both teams got their current 2009 rosters and the new codebase that allows for schedule/staff syncing.

As soon as Apple says go, these will be available.

Ohio State and Virginia Tech Updates Coming

Author: admin | Filed under: TeamView

I was contacted and told that I may be infringing on the licenses of the member institutions that the TeamView apps represent.  Let me make clear that neither TeamView nor it’s developers are affiliated with the schools that the app represents in any way other than as fans of their respective football programs.

Before releasing these applications, we made a good faith attempt NOT to infringe on any rights; you’ll notice there are no team logos, and the colors are relatively generic.  However, in an effort to comply, some changes are coming to the application that I truly hope will be satisfactory to the CSC and the Institutions it represents.

I know that some may be disappointed in some of these changes, and for that I apologize.  This is a touchy area, but I respect the rights of the schools to protect their identities.  It is not my intention to mislead or misrepresent, and I believe that will be made even more clear with the updates I’ll be pushing to the App Store in the coming days.

More Changes Coming

Author: admin | Filed under: TeamView

Of all the feedback I’ve received, 3 things have been requested most: Improved graphics, better news, and updated roster.  After some diligent work this weekend, I’ve submitted updates to ALL of the currently available TeamView applications that addresses the 2 of those that are possible.  We’ve improved graphics on the front page, added and touched up icons, and generally tweaked colors.  In addition, I completely revamped the News page.  The news now includes the date of the posting, and for several teams, a better news feed was selected (some feeds didn’t work previously, but those issues were resolved).

Of course, I could not yet update rosters.  Contrary to some reviewers impressions, it’s not possible right now because NO team has released a 2009 roster, and we’re not in the business of speculation.  As mentioned several times in several places, as soon as 2009 rosters are available, they’ll be patched in for free.

Look for an update to be available sometime this week via the App store, and enjoy!

Big Updates Coming For ALL Teams!

Author: admin | Filed under: TeamView

I’ve noticed in some of the reviews that people were expecting the 2009 roster.  Right now, all the TeamView apps contain the 2008 roster, because thats the only official roster available.  We’ll make a big update closer to the season when the signees have come onboard and all the dust settles.  Make no mistake, as soon as we can get our hands on official 2009 rosters, we’ll update all the apps across the board to reflect all the changes.

Rosters

It appears Apple kicked it into overdrive last night, and approved 10 new TeamView Apps for sale.  Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Florida State should show up on the App Store sometime today.  You can beat the rush though, and click the fancy new App icons on the right side of this page next to your favorite team(s).

(Edit: Looks like they’re all up on the app store now; just do a search for TeamView)

10 New Teams Now Available!

Author: admin | Filed under: TeamView

Sometime in the next couple of days (probably by Friday,  March 13th), 7 new teams will receive the TeamView treatment:

  • Texas Longhorns
  • Oklahoma Sooners
  • Michigan Wolverines
  • Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Penn State Nittany Lions
  • LSU Tigers
  • Florida State Seminoles

In addition, I pushed out a big update to the (free) TeamView: Alabama application.  TeamView: Alabama was formerly known as “iTide”, but it’s received the full TeamView transition including an RSS feed and improved graphics.

I’ll pass along an update when these are available.
